Millennia NSEQ-2 EQ vs UAD api 550 vs New UAD pultecs !

Ok i've been checking out the new eq plugins from UAD audio. Had a couple of EDM tracks to master yesterday (Avicii style). Like mixing I use a combo of digital and analog gear for mastering also. My go to analog eq is my api 5500 for eq sweetening! I've been trying out the UAD api 550, new pultecs, and the Millennia NSEQ-2 EQ. All sounded great but the Millennia NSEQ-2 EQ is something special in my opinion!

Thanks for the tracks you send for mastering - I offer mixing also!

Enjoying very much the great tracks being sent over for my mastering service, thank you all! I also offer a mixing service which includes mastering within the price. Have you ever tried out a separate/independent mixing engineer to mix and engineer your songs? For new clients I will provide a fully mixed and mastered preview of your song. This is so you can fully hear what I can achieve with your raw recorded tracks at no cost to you! Check out this short intro video I made for my sister website - www.mixing-online.co.uk.

The number of audio tracks within a song can vary a lot!!!!

The number of audio tracks within a song can vary a lot. Depending on the complexity, number of vocalists, and genre, will obviously affect the total amount. The number of tracks has no impact to the final product generally. This week I'm mixing and mastering a hip hop track and a US pop / Rnb track. Both tracks turned out great, clients were very happy!

The hip hop track had 25 stems in all. 2 vocal mono tracks and the rest music and drums! The pop / rnb song had around 210 audio tracks! Yes 210 !! We had around 80 vocal tracks which included leads, ad-libs, bridge x6, bridge harmonies stacks x6, chorus stacks x10, chorus harmonies x10, arhhs and ohhs x12. Rap lead, double, ad-libs, and a few stacks! For the music, bass x4, Guitars x8, strings x6, synth strings x4, synths x22, keys x 10, horns synth x4, live horns x14 , efx x20, drums x 30 and so on! Quite a difference !

spl Volume 2

On a different note, lets talk about volume controllers. Usually placed between your final computers stereo outputs and your monitors.  Ok not so interesting but over the years I have been buying the cheaper passive versions as the TC electronic level pilot.

Unfortunately these don't last very long.

Over a fairly short period of time you start to get crackles and at low volumes the stereo image falls apart. Introducing the spl Volume 2 which I brought about a year ago. Can't fault it, superb stereo image and super smooth volume control, Highly recommended !!!
